Why join our group?
As a remote worker who moved to the Isle of Man in 2021, I've run into many people in similar situations - we work remotely, often from home, occasionally bouncing in and out of work cafes, coffee shops and co-working spaces! While technology has enabled work location flexibility, enabling many of us to live and work almost anywhere, remote work itself can be isolating. Over the past few years, I've found myself wanting to connect into a community, to network, and to share experiences over a coffee. Sometimes it's nice to just step outside of the home office and into the community.

Community of Practice organizer - Remote Isle of Man
I moved to the Isle of Man in 2021 and work for a company headquartered in the United States. We moved here to be closer to my partner's family, so that our kids could grow up with their cousins and extended family. While I enjoy the flexibility that remote working has created for my family, I often miss the "real work experience" - coffees and lunches, with colleagues, in-between meetings and presentations during our busy work week.
